WHAT WILL WE DO?

The Roman city of Italica is located only 9 km from Seville, north of the city, next to the village of Santiponce.

It is the first Roman city in the peninsula founded by Scipio the African in 206 BC and one of the best preserved imperial cities in the world. It is also the birthplace of two emperors: Hadrian and Trajan.

The Amphitheatre of Italica was undoubtedly one of the largest and most striking amphitheatres, built to hold 25,000 spectators. However, at the best time of the city the population reached 8.000 inhabitants. 

You will also enjoy the magnificent Roman mosaics, a real treasure of the old city.

Another hidden gem that we will visit is the Monastery of San Isidoro del Campo. Here many artistic styles are represented such as Mudejar, Gothic or Baroque. It is a medieval fortress with an impressive history, important works of Spanish art (such as by Martínez Montañés) and is the place where the Bible was first translated into Spanish.
